The way of gaming that can be spoken of is not the true way...Once, a gamer dreamt he was a Settler, trying to make a go of it on Catan. As the Settler, he had no recollection of being a gamer. When he awoke, he remembered nothing of being a Settler and he remembered only his life as a gamer. But was it the gamer dreaming he was a Settler or a Settler dreaming he was a gamer? Between the two, there must be some distinction. This is called the Transformation of Games...
